Airlines and policy makers in the aviation and tourism industry will in two weeks time meet at Abuja Bantaba, a local travel expo, to discuss the future of travel sector in Nigeria.
A statement by Publishers of African Travel Quarterly Magazine, organisers of Abuja Bantaba, said the programme aimed to contribute to travel business’ growth by bringing stakeholders together to chart a new course for the industry.
According to the statement, stakeholders expected at the expo are the Minister of Aviation, Mrs. Stella Oduah; Governor of Akwa-Ibom State, Mr. Godswill Akpabio; and Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Captain Chinyere Kalu.
Agencies expected at the event include the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria; Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority; and the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency.
The statement signed by the Publisher, Mr. Ikechi Uko, further stated that some of the dignitaries would be honoured at the event for their contributions to the development of the aviation sector.
Also expected at the event is the Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Commission, Mr. Segun Runsewe.
The company noted that United Continental Airlines, the new United States’ airline flying into Nigeria, would be joining other airlines and travel companies in this year’s edition of the travel expo.
Meanwhile, the new executives of the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agents have reiterated their desire to reinforce the cooperation with the organisers of the event.
