Passenger caught stealing N960,000 on plane written by DANIEL ETEGHE (Vanguard Newspapers)
THE Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, officials, yesterday, at the Murtala Muhammed
International Airport, Lagos, arrested a passenger (names withheld) on Arik Air flight W3 071 that was
leaving for Accra, Ghana, for stealing $6,000 (N960,000) from the bag of another passenger.
The passenger was caught by an eagle-eyed cabin crew when he was stealing the money from a bag in the
overhead baggage hold and subsequently raised an alarm which led to the arrest of the passenger by FAAN
security officials.
Vanguard gathered that the suspect was later handed over to the police and transferred to Beesam Police
Station.
When Vanguard visited the police station, a police officer said the case was not brought there.
Also, at the Police office at the airport, another police official who claimed anonymity denied being informed
of the incident.
